How long does it take to charge a car?
Charging time depends mainly on the battery type, car model, and station power. The ORLEN Charge network offers charging points with power up to 400 kW, which can significantly speed up the charging process.
Why is my car charging at a lower power than expected?
Charging power depends on many factors, including your vehicle’s specifications, state of charge, and battery temperature. Many electric vehicles have a pre-heating function that optimizes battery temperature before arriving at the station, which speeds up charging.
What types of connectors are available at ORLEN charging stations?
ORLEN Charge stations offer two types of connectors for DC charging: CHAdeMO and CCS (Combo). Additionally, there is one connector for AC charging—Type 2 (Mennekes). Some stations also have AC sockets where you can use your own charging cable.
Can I unplug the connector during charging?
No, you cannot unplug the connector while charging is in progress. To stop a charging session, you must first end the process using the ORLEN Charge app. During charging, the vehicle secures the connector to prevent accidental or unauthorized disconnection. Only after charging has stopped can you safely disconnect the connector from the vehicle.
Do I need my own charging cable?
Most ORLEN Charge stations are equipped with built-in DC and AC (Type 2) charging cables. There are also “plug-in” AC locations (with a socket) that require your own Type 2 cable. You can check the connector type at a specific charging station in the ORLEN Charge app before you arrive.
Are there additional fees if the car remains connected after charging is complete?
An idle fee is charged after 60 minutes from the start of charging on DC connectors and after 720 minutes on AC connectors. The price list is available at orlencharge.pl and in the ORLEN Charge app.

What should I do if a charging spot is occupied by a petrol or diesel car?
If a spot designated for electric vehicle charging is occupied by a combustion engine car, you can report it directly to the appropriate authorities, such as the Municipal Guard or Police. Alternatively, please take photos confirming the incident at the charging station and attach them using the form at https://opinie.orlen.pl/Forms/Mobile/OrlenCharge.
